This skirt can worn two (or three..or even four!) different ways! It can we worn so that it is shorter in the front and dips down in the back (as I have modelled the skirt in the pictures), or so that hem is diagonal with the patchwork at the front, or the back (like my mannequin is wearing in the bottom pics). Or it could even be worn so that it is longer in the front and shorter in the back :)
I made the skirt using a gorgeous fabric that is a light shade of lavender with a spongy sort of print, and many different calico and quilt fabrics..including a few fabrics I purchased in Australia. Each and every seam has been topstitched. This adds a wonderful look to the patchwork! I've appliqued lots of my flow-y leaves and vines appliques, in a rainbow of colours. The skirt has a sweet little tier, with my signature hand-frayed edge. As always, I have stitched over the edge to keep the hem from fraying any further. Elastic/drawstring waistband with cord ties with lavender heart beads on the ends, that tie in the front or back or side, depending on how you wear the skirt. This is such a beautiful skirt!!!
