This apron skirt/top set turned out so wonderfully!
*For the apron, I used a biege/yellowish light tan cotton fabric, and a white and brown swirly fern-like print quilt fabric...the apron is double-layered, and the edges and straps have been HAND-frayed and then topstitched with scallop decorative stitching in gold/tan thread. There is a band at the top of the apron, that also has a hand-frayed edge and is topstitched in floral, leaf, and vine decorative stitching. The front of the apron features a hand-painted butterfly applique in the centre! I've also appliqued lots of vines and leaves along the sides and bottom. So pretty!! The apron ties are a very unique shape, they taper up from the ends...and since the straps start off pretty wide, you can wear a strapless bra underneath if you'd like!
*The underskirt is made from a light tan cotton fabric. It's nice and simple..could definitely be worn separately, with other items in your wardrobe! The waisband is elastic/drawstring and is accented with leafy decorative stitching in gold/tan thread. The hem has a large scalloped edge, topstitched with decorative scallop stitches so it doesn't fray anymore :) I've also appliqued lots of vines and leaves along the bottom hem. There are seven sets of leaves...and they are all unique.
